Review: Sonia Kashuk Blush Brush
Quality: 5 out of 5Packaging: 5 out of 5
Price: $10
Where to buy: Target
Cruelty Free: Yes
Overall: 5 out of 5
I had 3 blush brushes before, but they were either too scratchy (the ELF blush brush) or they shed too much (Studio Tools), or both. So I saw the Sonia Kashuk brushes for 10% off at Target and decided to try the blush brush (white handled, not black) in hopes that it would not shed like a cat or scratch like... well, a pissed off shedding cat.
.jpg)
I wasn't disappointed. The Sonia K blush brush is so soft, I just want to cuddle with it. It hardly feels like I'm brushing anything against my face. The brush is wide enough that it covers the right area without any hassle, but it doesn't apply too much. The best part is that it picks up just the right amount of blush so I only have to do one stroke from the apples of my cheeks to my hair line and one back, then I'm done. It doesn't look splotchy and I don't have any harsh lines to blend. I haven't noticed any shedding hairs either, so I'm in blush brush heaven!
Highly Recommended!

ELF Haul
I got my ELF cosmetics haul last weekend. Everything is great, except I don't like the shades I got for the Hypershine glosses.
Pink Ice and Moondust are so pretty for a soft natural look.

Tutorial: Pink, Pink, Pink
Here is my pink eye shadow tutorial. Hope you all like it. I haven't link it anywhere, but somehow its gotton 300 views in less then 24 hours. Mystery! Btw, I talked about not being sure if the NYX e/s pencil would crease, but I wore it for 8 hours before I had to wash it off and there wasn't any creasing.

CherryCulture.com NYX Haul
Got my package with a bunch of goodies the other day. I love everything, especially the glitter liners and pigments. I really wanted to do another order, but unless they have free shipping its not worth it to do a small order. Sorry the photos are blurry. I haven't had much patience with my camera lately.
Glitter Liners: Lavendar, Crystal, Blue, Jade
Chrome Pigments: Sunny Day, Red (which is actually dark pink)
Nail Polish: Purple Ave (has nice confetti, but you have to be careful or else it will peel off)
Round Lipsticks: Jupiter, Doll

Reviews later as I use them.

Recent Hauls
On Tuesday I needed some retail therapy so I hit the mall! My first stop was a small beauty store that has a small display of NYX lipsticks. I was just going to order some from Cherryculture.com but Hebe was too gorgeous and I couldn't wait! Then I went to the MAC counter. I was going to get Parfait Amour or Aquadisiac, but Hepcat caught my eye so I got that one. Last I hit Charlotte Russe, the clothing store, and they have small bins of lipgloss and eye shadow trios at the counters that I always look through. They had two new color sets, Mermaid and Aquatic, that I didn't have yet so I got those too.
Then I came home and put in an order at Cherryculture because they are having a 20% off sale until the 20th. I got 4 NYX candy glitter liners, 2 lipsticks, and 2 chrome pigments. I'll probably get them all next week.

Theshespace swatches.
I did swatches of the LE stuff, but that will eventually be gone, so I thought I'd do swatches of the regular collection.
Just so you don't get confused, the names of the colors are within the rows (hopefully that makes sense). I didn't feel like numbering them.

Tutorial: How to get great close up photos.
Quite a few people have asked me how I get such nice eye close ups in my FOTD's so I thought I'd write a little tutorial on it.
The most important tool is your camera. If you have an older camera then its not as likely that you can get nice close ups. That doesn't mean a new camera has to cost hundreds of dollars though. I have a Canon Powershot SD750, it was about $230 at Staples, but you can get it a little cheaper on Amazon or Curcut City. My mothers camera is a Polariod i733 however and it takes just at great photos but you can get it on sale at Target for $80-$90, it just has less hoo hahs and doo dads.

The second most important feature is the Macro setting. This is usually marked on your camera with a little flower (see above). The Macro setting allows you to focus on close up images without them getting blurry, and it will lower the flash so things don't get washed out. My camera has the normal macro setting, and what I call the Super Macro setting. I use the normal one for full face photos and various make up photos, and the super macro for my eye close ups.
The super macro setting has no flash at all, so good natural lighting is a must. Luckly for me, I have five windows in my bedroom, so unless its overcast natural light is in abundance. I stand infront of the window that usually lets in the most light with the curtains closed so I don't have the sun glaring at me. I use a small hand held mirror behind the camera so I can see the view screen.
I rarely get a great shot without taking 5-10 photos first. Without the flash you have to be very still or else the photo will be blurry and my arms tend to shake a bit. After I think I've gotten a good shot, I take the photo to photoshop CS and crop, resize, and fix the color if I need to. Also I've found that its good to find the perfect angle and stick to that each time. If you're moving around all the time its hard to consistantly get great photos.
I found my camera on this excellent website, it ranks all the different camera brands, and then the cameras within each brand. Plus, you get to see first hand tons of photos that people have taken with each camera. Its so so helpful.

Hope that helps, thanks for reading.
